| Third Country Training Program on
Acid Deposition Monitoring and Assessment February 15 – 28, 2004 Environmental
Research and Training Center (ERTC) Technopolis, Pathumthani Thailand General
Information of the Training In the East Asia region, acid deposition is becoming
a critical problem with the rapid industrialization in this region. Acid deposition
is one of the global environmental problems, and thus, calls for cooperative actions
among countries. However, such countermeasures must be based on comparable and
reliable monitoring data which is quite lacking in this region. In order to cope
with this problem, Thailand was jointly granted financial support from the government
of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
and the Royal Thai Government through Department of Technical and Economic Cooperation
(DTEC), Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, to conduct the Third Country Training Programme on "Acid
Deposition Monitoring and Assessment" for the JFY 2003. The training
course will be conducted by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion
(DEQP) and the Pollution
Control Department (the National Center of EANET ) for Thailand
|
| Objectives At
the end of the Course participants are expected to:- Have the potential
in creating a common understanding on acid deposition problems in East Asia
- Have
fully acquired the ability and skills to perform acid deposition monitoring in
their respective countries.
- Have fully acquired the ability and skills to
perform emission inventories and modeling for acid deposition.
- Be able to
assist in formulating control strategies and national environmental matters and
strengthen links between national and regional policies in environmental assessment.
