The important issues consisted of 1) water diversion method from Phasi Charoen Canal to Krathum Baen Canal, Maduea Canal and Sansuk Canal to Si Wa Passawat Canal 2) examples of wastewater treatment technologies in canals, and 3) mathematical models of using good quality water to repel wastewater in Krathum Baen Canal area.

The meeting discussed additional issues such as choosing the right model to push the water, treating wastewater in branch canals before discharging into Tha Chin River, monitoring and enforcing laws on pollution sources, raising awareness for industrial entrepreneurs, and the issue of saltwater encroachment affecting agriculture. PCD will continue to coordinate and drive action to solve problems in the area, Dr. Pinsak said.
