PCD has intensified training with NED on law enforcement against water pollution sources.

June 26, 2025 — Ms. Preeyaporn Suwanaged, Director General of the Pollution Control Department (PCD), disclosed that officers under the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Suppression Division (NED) of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the Royal Thai Police, are designated as pollution control officers authorized to carry out duties within their areas of responsibility under the Enhancement and Conservation of National Environmental Quality Act, B.E. 2535 (1992).

Ms. Preeyaporn stated that, to strengthen proactive roles in effective law enforcement and to address public grievances caused by pollution comprehensively, PCD has organized training for pollution control officers under the NED. The training aims to ensure that they can perform their duties in full compliance with legal procedures and be well-prepared to join PCD’s pollution control officers in field operations.

Ms. Preeyaporn further emphasized the importance of integrating operations to strictly follow the legal process, aligning practices under the Enhancement and Conservation of National Environmental Quality Act. She also urged continuous communication with owners and operators of water pollution sources to raise awareness and encourage greater compliance with the law.
